Here is another beautiful leather kit from our vintage archives. These kits are so interesting and the most suave way to travel with your shaving gear. The kit is ready to go and filled with everything you need for the perfect shave!

We wanted this kit to be ready to go for its new owner, so we’ve outfitted it with an assortment of one-of-a-kind shaving supplies, including our made in Canada Journey Shaving Brush.

The leather case measures 20cm x 20cm x 5cm with a zipper running around 3 edges, allowing the case to open like a binder. Inside you’ll find the original aluminum tins that hold each grooming item.  The case also contains its original mirror, fine toothed comb, small scissors, nail file and boar bristle hair brush. Those items are original, so whether you use them is up to you).  There is also a tin to hold your toothbrush.

The Brush

“The Journey” is our very own Canadian-manufactured shaving brush and we’re confident you’ll love it!

This shaving brush features a heavy-duty anodized aluminum handle with a modern, easy to hold shape.  We’ve designed this brush to easily whip up a thick lather in both shaving creams and soaps.  Each brush handle is manufactured, anodized, and engraved at small, Canadian shops.

We set this brush with extremely soft “Tuxedo” synthetic nylon bristles which makes it softer than any natural bristle type.  After 10 years of manufacturing and setting people up with shaving brushes, we’ve learned that Synthetic bristles outlast natural bristles and are easier to care for.  They are lovely and soft, making them excellent for those with sensitive skin.  Synthetic bristles are also vegan.

We stand behind our Journey shaving brush 100% and are happy to offer a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty!

The Razor

The double edge razor was invented in 1903, and unlike drugstore cartridge razors that are most commonly used today, the double edge razor blade fits all double edge razors (with a some rare exceptions). Many folks love shaving with and collecting vintage razors because they were extremely well built and are a unique piece of history.  This razor was manufactured in England in 1949 and is a version of the Gillette “Tech”.  It uses a standard double edge razor blade (like all of the other razors we sell) and provides a fantastic, close shave.  The Tech is similar to most vintage razors in that it is shorter than modern safety razors, ensuring you grip it only with your fingertips so the razor can pivot and glide without pressure over your skin.  If you appreciate antiques and quality manufacturing, this razor is for you!

The Soap

We make our soap with all natural ingredients and essential oils that respect both the planet and our skin. Our soap is moisturizing, clean rinsing, and beneficial for all skin types.  We’ve formulated this shave soap to lather exceptionally well, protect your skin and last longer than aerosol cans of shave gel. Choose from:

1. Shaved Ice: Peppermint and Eucalyptus – refreshing and cool
2. Twisted Lime: Lime and Tea Tree – citrusy and fresh
3. Bay Rum: Clove, Pine and Orange – sweet and spicy
4. Coastal Fair: Lavender and Benzoin – calming and relaxing
5. Island Hopper: Benzoin and Frankincense – herbal and sweet
6. Lumberjack: Cedarwood and Sage – woodsy and slightly smokey
7. Unscented: No Essential Oils – plain and simple, no scent

The Leather Travel Kit

This case is vintage, so please keep in mind that there are some markings and flaws in the leather.  We think it adds character and history to the case, but if you’d prefer something brand new, you can take a look at these.
