Description

Every element of the Henson razor is designed specifically to give you a safe and smooth shave. The unique head design ensures the blade is presented to your skin at the correct angle — in fact if you hold the razor off angle it won’t shave at all. No need to master specific shaving techniques, it either shaves safely or not at all.

The Henson razor is made from aerospace grade aluminum and is manufactured in Ontario, Canada. The razor is built with the same AS9100 aerospace standards required to create satellite components.

While we here at The Copper Hat love a good looking and Canadian-made product, what it comes down to for us is, does it work?  And we have to say, YES! The Henson provides an extremely close and easy shave.  Over the years we have shaved with and taught folks how to use a wide variety of razors, both vintage and new.  While some razors are more challenging to use than others (looking at you antique GEM Micromatic!), all double edge safety razors we have used require a pretty good degree of concentration and care.  We think those traits are good ones to have when shaving, but let’s be honest, sometimes you just need to get the job done quick.  For us at The Copper Hat, that is where the Henson stands out.  For both face and leg shaving, we’ve found that the light weight (38g) and minimal blade gap of the razor made for a fast, nick-free and smooth shave.  We would never advertise shaving with a double edge safety razor as quick, but with this one, it really is!  And the best thing?  You don’t sacrifice the closeness of shave for that ease of use – you still get an extremely close, smooth shave.

So, this razor would be excellent for you if:

• You love your current safety razor but would like something that requires a little less time and concentration

• You’ve tried a safety razor in the past but found it was a bit too aggressive or you nicked yourself frequently

• You are brand new to using a safety razor and feel a bit apprehensive

• You find holding a heavier weight razor to be uncomfortable on your hands/finger joints

• You’re looking for a beautiful and precisely manufactured razor

• You’d like something that is made in Canada

From Henson:

To get the precision and perfection we desired in our razor, we sought out and partnered with one of Canada’s top Aerospace Manufacturers who had enough precision and skill to build structural components for the Mars Rover, International Space Station, and low earth satellite (LEO) programs.

Because each component of the Henson razor is precision machined, we are able to achieve extremely tight tolerances in a production environment to bring an incredibly high quality and low cost razor, to you.

Our accuracy allows a consistent blade gap and blade exposure. Less blade exposure means less chatter. Less chatter means less strokes, less irritation, and smoother shave every time. It’s time for you to upgrade your shave and feel the difference that precision makes.  For more information from Henson, click here.

More Information:

Using a double edge safety razor such as this one is an excellent way to decrease your plastic waste, save money, and get a smooth, irritation free shave.  Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Shaving with any razor is abrasive to skin, so it is very important to protect your skin with a moisturizing shaving soap or cream.  We also recommend using either a shaving brush or a washcloth to exfoliate your skin and soften stubble before you begin your actual shave.

If you have any questions about how to use a safety razor or which shaving products may be best for you, please send us an email, we’re happy to help!
